True Brief History of MouseRugs
FiberLok, the 30-year-old originator and manufacturer of Lextra flock heat transfers, is the world's exclusive maker of MouseRugs in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. FiberLok makes Lextra flock graphics for a wide range of customers; and you do not need to look any farther than the logo on your UPS driver's shirt to see Lextra from FiberLok!
Around 1999 a major apparel brand customer asked FiberLok to increase its capacity and expand the Colorado factory in order to handle more business coming from them. After two years and the $2 million expansion was complete, this apparel brand announced it was moving sourcing to Central America and Asia, sending a gift banner that says "FiberLok Does It!" while leaving it to FiberLok to determine how to survive.
FiberLok's founding owner, president and product inventor L. B. Abrams (LBA) was charged with developing a way to use and pay for the new capacity. Combining a previous work stint with the Rug Corporation of America (Dallas, TX) with a passion for well-designed textile graphics, the idea came to LBA to bring his career around full circle by returning to the rug business with the development of MouseRugs.
